What NewDawn does

Four ways people can learn and create.

NewDawn has active media, teaching demonstrations and global partner work. Local learning labs and job-skills programs are still being developed on the Mississippi Gulf Coast.

01
XR Learning LabsDemonstrations active · Local lab in development

Step inside a lesson and learn by doing.

XR means virtual and augmented reality. A headset, phone or computer can place a learner inside a digital space. The learner can look around, practice a task and work with other people.

  • Visit a place that is hard to reach
  • Practice a task before doing it in real life
  • Build a simple 3D lesson or meeting room
02
Digital Media ProductionMedia work active

Use video, audio and digital tools to share an idea.

NewDawn uses online radio, video, audio and virtual demonstrations to teach and reach people. Future learning projects can help participants create media of their own.

  • Record a lesson, interview or community story
  • Share a live event with people who cannot attend
  • Turn hard information into something clear
03
Workforce DevelopmentLocal program in development

Build job skills by completing real work.

Guided projects can help learners practice speaking, teamwork, planning and digital production. The goal is experience they can use in school, at work or in a new career.

  • See how a project moves from idea to finished work
  • Practice presenting and working with a team
  • Create work that shows what you can do
04
Global CollaborationPartner work active

Learn with people in other countries.

Aaron currently works with partners in South Korea and Ghana. People in different countries can meet inside the same virtual room to teach, learn and present without traveling.

  • Join a class or workshop across borders
  • Practice hosting an event in a virtual room
  • Learn from people with different life experiences
